What's Next For

Homepage_edited_edited.jpg

This afternoon I attended an independent film festival and saw an incredible film. It’s a documentary about a child who suffers with extreme autism & his mothers heart wrenching concerns about his future. This film captures her unwavering love, dedication, and daily challenges encompassed by the deep bond they share.

I laughed, I cried, I realized how it is crucial that people that have political power must see this film. Changes need to be made in our society, not only for the child's development, but also to bring awareness to the public for this level of autism...  It is a moving and thought-provoking documentary that encourages empathy, understanding, and greater awareness of the challenges faced by those who are the caregivers and the person receiving the care.

Melissa is a true pioneer badass.  Blazing the path for her child & all children like him so that they are heard & respected.

This past Sunday I had a cinematic experience viewing "What's Next for Jayden", a film presented in The Long Island International Film Expo.  It was a scabs torn off, joyful and painful emotional ride that brought the daily struggles of a beautiful 7-year-old boy, who has Level 3 Autism.  To say it was exceptional is an understatement.  Well done, by Team Jayden and Tangerine Films

A film everyone should see. A film I will never forget.

An incredibly moving and powerful documentary.  This film refused to sugarcoat reality.  Instead, it offered and honest, unfiltered look at the profound challenges, unwavering love, and moments of joy that come with raising a child with Level 3 Autism.  It was both heartbreaking and inspiring, reminding us of the resilience that can be found in everyday life.  It takes tremendous courage to share Jayden’s journey so openly.  By allowing us into their lives she gives a voice to many families whose stories are often unseen or misunderstood.  What’s Next for Jayden is a powerful reminder of the grace, determination, and hope that exists even in life’s greatest challenges.  This documentary taught us so much about autism, resilience and the importance of never taking life’s blessings for granted.  To Jayden, we pray that the future brings greater awareness of autism, understanding, comfort, opportunities, and continued love from all those lives you touch.

As an educator who goes home from working with kids on all levels it was eye opening from a mother’s perspective.  Thank you for sharing your inspiring story and letting outsiders get a peek in.  We will never feel what you feel through your eyes and Jayden’s but the one feeling I could definitely feel is the love and fire you have for your boy.

I left with a deeper understanding of severe autism.  This film reminded me of something bigger: the strength, resilience, and relentless love it takes for a mom to show up every single day as a mother to Jayden while also building a successful career.  There are no adequate words to describe what she does every day or what this journey has required of her.  Thank you for allowing us to learn from your family’s story.  It is powerful, humbling, and unforgettable.

The most powerful documentary film I have ever watched.  Everyone should see this film and help to educate.

Raw, heartfelt, inspiring and courageous film about living with level 3 autism.  Thank you Melissa for sharing yourself with the world.

Every legislator should find a way to view this film about Jayden who suffers with level 3 autism.  It is a beautiful story about a mother’s love and journey.  It is a beautiful story about a mother’s love and journey.  The story is very candid, emotional, and surprising.  This movie checks so many boxes but most of all spreads awareness that there are many levels of autism and how isolating it can be for caregivers.  I told my daughters when I came home today, if I ever say I had a long day or I was tired feel free to slap me across the face.  Thank you Melissa for sharing your world.

Thank you for creating the opportunity for us to know better and to do better.  You are love embodied, bravery defined.

What’s Next for Jayden is a film about the love between a mother and her son, and the reality of the many struggles of caring for a child who has level 3 autism.  When the opportunity becomes available again to view the film, I highly encourage everyone to see it.
